Carnival Day
The children don’t just join the carnival
— they create it!
Carnival Day transforms your OSHC into a colourful event space where children help build the games, prepare the stalls and shape the experience before the carnival opens.
Educators work alongside the children throughout the build, helping ideas take shape and supporting each part of the carnival as it comes together.
By the time the carnival opens, the service has become something the children helped create — and something everyone gets to enjoy together.
What children get from Carnival Day
Carnival Day combines creativity, collaboration and practical problem-solving in one shared project.
Children naturally practise:
-
Creativity and idea development
-
Communication and teamwork
-
Planning and organisation
-
Problem-solving and decision-making
-
Confidence and responsibility
-
Contributing to something bigger than their own activity
Most importantly, children see their ideas become part of a real shared experience — something they helped create from the ground up.
Your educators build it alongside them
Carnival Day is designed for educators to work alongside children rather than simply supervise the finished event.
Educators help groups develop ideas, manage resources, solve problems and bring each stall or activity together.
Once the carnival opens, they continue to be part of the experience — running games, supporting children and helping the whole event feel like something the service created together.
